Yes, Magnetic Wallpapers can be installed either horizontally or vertically, depending on your preference. However, we recommend horizontal installation for the best results.

To achieve good results when applying Smarter Surfaces magnetic vinyl wallpapers, align the edges accurately (butt joints) or overlap and double-cut through both layers using a sharp blade. A properly crafted joint will be virtually invisible from a few meters away.

Magnetic Wallpapers are suitable for application on any smooth surface, including curved surfaces. Before installation, ensure that any loose material from previous coatings or wallpapers is removed. For absorbent surfaces, we recommend applying a coat of White Primer before proceeding.

We recommend using a vinyl on vinyl wallpaper adhesivewhen applying the Magnetic Wallpaper. Use a roller to evenly apply the adhesive to the wall, ensuring two thorough coats for best adhesion.

How to Apply Magnetic Whiteboard Wallpaper?

Magnetic Whiteboard Wallpaper is easy to install and provides a smooth, seamless magnetic dry-erase surface. For the best results, professional installation is recommended.

It can be applied horizontally, vertically, or on curved walls, though horizontal installation is advised for easier access at eye level.

Step 1 - It is crucial that the surface is smooth before application. Highly absorbent surfaces, such as fresh plaster, should be primed before applying the wallpaper. We recommend our White Primer, tested for compatibility with our wall coverings.

Step 2 - With a pencil, mark a straight, level, and horizontal line across the wall. Measure the wallpaper to the desired length and cut with a sharp blade or sharp scissors.

Step 3: Mix 5% water into the ready-mixed heavy-duty vinyl-over-vinyl adhesive and stir well. Apply the adhesive before installing the magnetic dry-erase wallpaper. Regular vinyl adhesive is not suitable.

Step 4: Apply two coats of the prepared adhesive to the wall using a roller, waiting for the first coat to feel dry before adding the second coat. After that, you can proceed to hang the magnetic whiteboard roll wallpaper.

Step 5 - Carefully roll out the wallpaper along the wall, pushing any air and excess adhesive out from behind the material as you go. Using the wallpaper spatula provided, press the entire surface of the wallpaper to the wall, pushing out all the excess wallpaper adhesive from behind the material. You must wait 48 hours before using the surface.
