Really impressed with the ultra finish and image quality. You definitely need a quality 3D projector. My setup at uses a Epson 5050ub which I think gets great value out of the painted screen.

FAQ's

This product can only be spray-applied. It can never be applied by roller or brush. Simply spray the paint onto desired smooth surfaces.

Well, acoustic transparency essentially refers to a material's ability to allow sound waves to pass through without significant absorption or reflection. To measure this, we assess the Sound Absorption Coefficient (SAC), which primarily quantifies how much sound energy is absorbed when waves interact with a surface.

In our testing, we carefully measured SAC values for a 12mm gypsum board, a widely used building material. Our findings were as follows :Unpainted Gypsum Board: SAC range α = 0.04 - 0.07 Painted Gypsum Board (with Silver Screen Paint) : SAC range α = 0.04 - 0.07

Since there is no deviation in SAC values between the unpainted and painted boards, this confirms that our Silver Screen Paints do not alter the acoustic properties of the surface. This makes them ideal for home theaters, auditoriums, and professional projection environments where maintaining sound integrity is crucial.

Yes, our 3D Silver Screen Paint is designed to work seamlessly with both 2D and 3D projection systems. Its advanced formulation ensures optimal brightness, contrast, and clarity, thus delivering an immersive visual experience. When used with 3D glasses and compatible projectors, the paint enhances depth perception and maintains true-to-life color fidelity, hence making it an excellent choice for high-performance projection setups.
The gain value of the Silver Screen Paint is the highest in our range by far, designed specifically for 3D projection, because of its unique properties achieved by the silver technology. This means a very high level of light reflectivity without interfering with the polarity of the reflected light delivering an exceptional 3D experience.
Well, in 3D projection technology, two slightly different images are projected onto the screen simultaneously. These images pass through specialized optical filters, which polarize the light differently for each projection. When viewed through 3D glasses, each lens is designed to block one of the images while allowing the other to pass through, ensuring that the left eye sees one image and the right eye sees the other. This separation of images creates the immersive 3D depth effect. For this process to work correctly, it is extremely important that the projection surface does not alter the light’s polarity. Our Silver Screen Paint is ‘polarity preserving’, means it maintains the original polarization of the projected images. This ensures that the 3D effect remains intact, thus delivering a sharp, high-quality visual experience exactly as intended by the projector.
Silver Screen Paint is designed for application on a variety of surfaces, including plaster, wallboards, wood, metal, and composites. It can also be applied to tensioned fabrics for specialized projection setups. Please note that this product is intended for indoor use only.
Yes, for optimal performance, we recommend applying 3D Silver Screen Paint to a previously primed or painted surface. Bare or untreated surfaces should be ideally primed with two coats of White Primer. to ensure smooth application and maximum projection quality.
Wear a respirator face mask as Silver Screen Paint is a spray applied paint. Use the gloves supplied in the kit while applying the paint. Additionally, you must wear the gloves that are supplied with the kit, and it's also advisable to wear safety glasses. Lastly, make sure that the room should be well ventilated, as is required for any painting process.
The recommended lighting setup for Smart Silver Screen Paint is low or medium ambient lighting.
Smart Silver Screen Paints are suitable for use with 3D projectors ( HD, 4K, and 8K Projector) above 3000 lumens.
During the spraying process ensure the area is clear of people as the spraying process like all paint that is spray applied will create a spray mist which with disappear after a few minutes with ventilation after the spraying is completed and the area ventilated it is completely safe. There is a very low odor during the drying process and the VOC level is low.

It meets the highest environmental standards and has been independently certified for Fire performance and VOC Use the gloves supplied in the kit while applying Smart Silver Screen Paint. As with any paint product we recommend wearing gloves during application.

Smart Silver Screen Paint is not flammable, making it suitable for use in schools and offices.

Silver screen paint is designed to enhance light reflectively and image resolution, especially in rooms with ambient light. It is more reflective than white paint, which can help to improve image quality. White projector screen paint, on the other hand, is more suitable for dark rooms or environments with minimal ambient light.

A silver screen is better suited for environments with low to medium ambient light, as it can help to reject that light and improve image quality. A white screen, on the other hand, is better suited for bright rooms or environments with high ambient light.

The flashpoint of the Silver Screen Paint is above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

The primary use cases for Silver Screen Paint is for 3D projection including home theatres and commercial theatres.

Yes, the Silver Screen Paint is designed for commercial applications, including movie theatres, conference rooms, and museums.

Yes, Silver Screen Paint can be more cost-effective than a traditional screen, especially for large or custom screen sizes.

Typically the process of application is done over two days. Day one is preparation and priming. Day two is spray application of the Silver Screen Paint, however application in one day is possible provided the first coat is touch dry before the application of the second coat.

Silver Screen Paint Installation

Prepare the Surface

Ensure your surfaces are spotless, dry, and free of any loose debris before painting.

Now carefully measure the area that you want to cover and mark it clearly with masking tape for exact precision. However, for bare, untreated surfaces, apply two coats of Smart White Primer to set the perfect foundation.

Fill any defects with decorator filler and sand smooth.

Apply a second coat of primer and lightly sand the surface with a smooth sandpaper.

Apply the 3D Silver Screen Paint

This product must be spray applied and is applied in two coats (a base coat, then a top coat).

The paint should be at room temperature.

Do not thin the paint with water.

Always wear a respirator mask when spraying in addition to standard PPE.

Use an airless sprayer.

Recommended spray tip size of 1.6mm - 2.0mm.

Each pack coverage includes 20% extra for overspray and loss in spray lines

First Coat

Stir the paint well - Do not add water

Spray your first coat of Silver Screen paint with a spray fan size of 15cm - 20cm and with a minimum wet film thickness of 80 microns. 2000 PSI or higher spray pressure

The spraying gun should be 30 cm from the surface during spraying.

Allow the first coat to fully dry (approx. 4 hours at 20°) if colder allow additional time before overcoating.

Finish Coat

Spray the finish coat with a minimum wet film thickness of 80 microns

Ensure a good overlap of each pass of the spray at 50% to ensure good coverage

Spraying Notes:

For small applications on smaller screens under 4.5m2 use a Gravity Fed Pot Gun to minimise waste as an airless spraying equipment will use a lot of product to fill the spray pump and gun line.

For Gravity Fed Pot Guns we recommend a spray tip: 1.6mil with the pressure set to 60PSI. Remember not to add water to the paint

In just 24 hours, our 3D Silver Screen Paint is primed and ready for action.
