Can you use dry erase paint on wood?

Yes. Just ensure the surface is smooth prior to application. Fill any imperfections with filler. Apply White Primer before the Whiteboard Paint White (or use Clear Primer before applying Whiteboard Paint Clear). Sand after each layer of primer and reuse primer as required.

Can you apply whiteboard paint over the wallpaper?

Yes, but only on smooth wallpaper. Avoid using it on textured wallpaper. If you want a white finish, apply two coats of White Primer first. For a clear finish on porous wallpaper, use two coats of Clear Primer.

Can I paint an existing blackboard with Whiteboard Paint?

Yes, you can paint over an existing blackboard. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth to remove any leftover chalk, then apply White Primer to ensure proper adhesion. Once the primer has dried, apply the Whiteboard Paint.

Can whiteboard paint be applied to floors?

We don’t recommend it. Whiteboard Paint hasn’t been tested for slip resistance, and like any painted surface, it may wear down depending on foot traffic. Its durability is guaranteed only as a dry erase surface.

Yes, it can be used outdoors. Our whiteboard paint is tested to withstand temperatures as low as -16°C and is resistant to UV light. However, for optimal performance, apply it in a sheltered and dry area.

What type of heater can speed up the drying process? Can I use an infrared lamp?

A standard fan heater can help speed up drying. Infrared lamps can also be used, but they should not be placed too close to the surface.

Can I use permanent markers on dry erase board paint?

A helpful trick is to use masking tape around the roller to pick up any loose fibres.

Why is it required to apply primer before applying Whiteboard Paint?

A primer helps give a surface a smooth finish. Secondly, they act as a ‘seal’ to the surface. This means that when you apply Whiteboard Wall Paint on a surface that has been primed, the properties of the paint will stay on the wall rather than being absorbed into the wall.
